This is not a pole.
The answers to the questions are unique to each salon.
In order to understand what you can do to improve the income of your salon you must have a clear understanding of what you are doing or not doing. The best way to do that is to be able to actually see it. This is my suggestion.
Make a list of everything you do in the operation of your salon.
Example.
What is your process for interviewing, hiring and training your staff?
What exactly do you do to reach existing and new tanners? What messages do you use to reach them.
How do you and your staff interact with tanners? Be specific.
What do you do to market within your salon?
Do you have sales meetings? What does a sales meeting consist of?
How did you come up with your price structure and why?
These are just some of the questions?
what is the point of this exercise?
We are visual, we need to see things. By doing this you may be able to determine where you can make improvements.
This is actually putting your business plan for success in a form that you can see. In doing so I think you may find that it will motivate you to make changes or ad important elements to your operation.
Be sure to not only list the things you are doing but also list why you chose to do it that way.
This may seem silly to many of you but it is important to know what you are doing so you know what to do.
Some of you may be doing things wrong. Some of you may not be doing things that you should be doing. Many of you may be doing a great many things correctly and only need to do more.
This exercise will help if you take it serious and put some effort into writing everything you do down where you can see it.
No need to post any of this because it is for you to see. You can comment if it was eye opening or that you actually learned a lot about yourself and salon or even that you learned nothing.
It is kind of like looking at game films.
